The portierX we are building
The access someone’s job needs
Access is handed out door by door and group by group, while people move through spaces.
People get their group’s access, not the access their job needs.
How access drifts
Access is rarely given out once. It is given at the door, by the group, by whoever is there when someone needs to get in.
Every one of those decisions is reasonable on its own.
Nobody owns what they add up to, and what they add up to is the access nobody meant to leave open.
Drift is what happens when nothing sets the direction.
Where portierX is going
portierX is being built to grant the space someone needs, for as long as they need it.
When someone
leaves
Their cards will be blocked and their keys followed up until they come back.
Built so far
Open a person and see every space and door they can open, including access still held on a key past its return date. Record each key as it comes back.
Contractors and
visitors
Each contractor will have a sponsor and an end date, and their access will end with the work.
Keys across
your sites
Every key and copy will be tracked across depots, key safes and issuing desks, against the person who holds it.
Built so far
Issue a key or a card to a person, record the return, and give each one a due date.
When a key
goes missing
Everyone who has to act will be told, and the follow-up tracked until it is done.
Protected
rooms
For server rooms and plant rooms, you will see every key and card that opens the room, master keys included. Access to them will need approval from whoever is responsible for the room.
Reviews and
audits
Owners will confirm who still needs each key and card, and the record will run from request to removal.
Built so far
Every change is recorded, and anyone with the export permission can filter the record and export it to CSV or Excel.

portier calls this physical access management, for estates running more than one access system plus keys.
What we are not building
portier is not a monitoring product. It keeps the record of who holds which key and what that key opens.
- No hardware. portierX does not replace the locks, cylinders and readers you already have.
- No cameras. What a door recorded is not what portierX is for.
- No visitor sign-in desk.
Ask for an invitation
portierX is invite-only ahead of launch.
